Hackers
We have hackers today, but they are quite different than the hackers we’re referring to. Today, hackers are computer experts who often use their technological knowledge to break into computerized systems and steal information. Back in the day, hackers weren’t tech-savvy people who worked on computers – since computers weren’t even invented.
Up until the sixties, woodchoppers were known as hackers – people who specialized in hacking down trees. Today, hackers of this kind are no longer necessary, because we have technology and machines that can perform this task for us better and faster. You could say the rise of technology has put an end to this type of hackers, and birthed a new kind of hackers.
