Dispatch Rider
In our day and age, communicating with people around the world is easier than ever. With the advancement in technology, all it takes to make a phone call or send a message to another person at the other side of the country (or even the world) is a simple click on our touch screens. However, sending messages and communicating in the past wasn’t as easy.
That’s where dispatch riders came in handy. They were employed mostly during wars and they served as military messengers – riding on motorcycles and delivering messages. Operating during the early to mid-1900s, dispatch riders were considered a more reliable means to transfer messages rather than radio transmissions.
