Jeralean Talley
Jeralean passed away at the age of 116 years, 25 days on the 17th of June 2015. At the time she was the oldest living person and American in the world. She had 11 siblings and spent most of her childhood living on a farm in Georgia where she picked cotton and peanuts. In 1935 she moved to Inkster Michigan where she lived for the rest of her life.
Jeralean remained active in her life well into her late years. She would make dresses, quilts, play slot machines in casinos, and even continued bowling until she was 104 years old. When her legs got too weak for bowling, she continued fishing with her friend Michael Kinloch. She was a devout Christian and was a member of the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. She believed in treating people the way you want to be treated.
