Antonia Gerena Rivera
Antonia was the oldest recorded Puerto Rican-born woman and the third oldest person in USA history. She passed away in June 2015 at the age of 115 years, 14 days. Other family members (brother and sister) also lived long lives up until the ages of 105 and 103 respectfully. From family members, most attributed longevity to family genes and drinking brandy – we aren’t too sure on the latter).
She was once married, had eight children, and was ultimately survived by two children. She was offered the privilege of meeting the director of the Supercentenarian Research Foundation, Stan Primmer as well as the co-founder of Gerontology Research Group, Dr. L. Stephen Coles. This allowed her family to contribute to supercentenarian study groups.
