Giuseppina Projeto – Frau
Giuseppina, commonly known as ‘Pina’ by her friends, was a validated supercentenarian in Italy, the oldest person to live in Europe and the second oldest person in the world at the time of her passing. She was born in 1902 in La Maddelena, Sardinia, Italy where she was dubbed La Nonna D’Italia (the grandmother of Italy). Giuseppina was raised in an orphanage called iCollegio, this is where she learned and discovered her passion for knitting.
Giuseppina married twice, however, had no children of her own. She married her second husband, Giuseppe Frau who had 3 children that they raised together. She had a sweet tooth and thanked her love of chocolate for her longevity. She died at the age of 116, 37 days in 2018.
