Ethel Lang
Ethal Lang was born in Worsborough, South Yorkshire. Longevity ran in her family, her mother lived until 91, her sister 104, and her grandmother 92 years old. She was married to William Lang with whom she shared a birthday and a daughter, Margaret. Aside from being the oldest living person in the United Kingdom at the time of her death, besides being the last living British person born during the reign of Queen Victoria. As a centenarian Lang enjoyed dancing and watching “Snooker” on television.
Lang became the oldest person living in the UK following the passing of Grace Jones (not the singer) in 2013. She was also the last to be born in 1903. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest living person in Europe after Emma Morano, Lang died on the 15th of January 2015 at the age of 114 years, 233 days.
