Is that a Boyfriend/Girlfriend?
“Oh, who’s that?” said the parent after their child brought home a friend of the opposite gender. “Is that a… boyfriend/girlfriend? Do I hear wedding bells! Look at his face; he’s all flustered! Hahaha!” Never, ever do this to your child. Bringing home a friend of the opposite gender is bad enough, but if you’re going to make a big deal out of it, they’ll learn how to hide things from you.
People can have a hard time finding a boyfriend or girlfriend during their hormone-filled teenage years, but if you make them feel bad for what comes naturally to them at that age, they might end up with an unhealthy idea about dating.
