#18: Why No Pockets?
Is it so crazy to admit that purse companies want to maintain merchandise sales by making women’s clothes without pockets? Think about it—if women had pockets, we wouldn’t need to wear purses nearly as often. The purse industry wants to keep women reliant on purses to maintain sales. It makes so much sense!
Regardless of the origin of the lack of practical pockets in women’s clothing, the demand for functional pockets is growing. Many designers and brands are beginning to shift toward pocket-friendly clothing, and it’s great that these changes highlight the importance of listening to consumers when adapting merchandise.
