Couple Reunited in 1945 Post War
When the United States entered WWII, many men went off to fight, and their loved ones knew there was a chance that they’d never see them again. It’s heartbreaking to think that some women never see their husbands and partners again. This couple was lucky enough to be reunited in 1945 after the war.
Ralph Neppel was injured during his service, but he survived and was able to come home to his fiancé, Jean Moore. This photo was taken during a ceremony in which Neppel was awarded a Congressional Medal of Honor. The look of joy on both of their faces is heartwarming, and we hope they had many happy years together.
