#18: That Is Not Two Separate Photos
When this picture made headlines in 2006, megalophobes around the world collectively gasped in horror. During a storm, the Pasha Bunker, a 76-ton ship, ran aground at Nobbys Beach in Newcastle, Australia. It was stuck for 25 days. Murray Mckean’s photo perfectly captures the gargantuan ship’s size.

A live stream of the crew being rescued unfolded as helicopters tried to battle the storm and get everyone off board. It took over four hours, but all 22 men were finally brought ashore. Each year, on June 8th, this famous photo makes the rounds again, and megalophobes throw their phones across the room to avoid it.
