#20: Herculean Driftwood
While we expect to find interesting pieces of driftwood along the beach, it’s rather unusual to find such a large specimen. Thankfully, for those with megalophobia, only a tiny portion of the tree is shown. Yes, the root system is relatively large, but the tree itself is over 200 feet long!

It washed up on Washington Beach in the early 2000s, and people were flummoxed by where it came from. It’s still there today if you want to visit. Many locals say it’s their favorite part of the beach and that they always wander the sand nearby to see if new and exciting things have come ashore!
