#34: Kidney Beans, Who Knew?
Kidney beans are little red beans known for their role in soups, chilies, sauces, and other delicious dishes. Different kinds of beans are often healthy ingredients we add to our meals. Although they are a great source of protein and other nutrients, they can also be poisonous if not cooked and consumed properly.
If you do not boil kidney beans for at least 10 minutes and then drain them before you cook them, they can get you extremely sick. Kidney beans are poisonous and contain toxins that can cause nausea, vomiting, and if you eat enough it might even be deadly. Consider yourself warned.
