#46: Wading Waters
When out hiking through the woods or camping in the wild, you can come across a lot of surprises that you will have to make quick decisions on, and some of them you definitely don’t want to make the wrong choice. We always say “it won’t happen to me,” but you never know, and it’s good to always be prepared.
If you come up to a stream or any wide section of water and there is a moving current, throw a stick into it; if the stick flows with the current faster than walking pace, it means you better find another route. It may take longer to get to your destination, but at least you will get there safe and sound.
