Questionable Street Names Across the Country

Hawaii is such a beautiful place. The breathtaking ocean shores and varied wildlife make Hawaii a must-see state. The fish and other creatures in the ocean surrounding Hawaii are especially intriguing. In fact, the wildlife is so interesting, we wouldn’t be surprised to see some street signs named after it.

Located on the island of Oahu, Ma’ipaloa Road is certainly an interesting choice, considering Ma’ipalaoa translates to “whale genitals.” We can’t tell you exactly why it’s called that, but maybe it’s best not to know. If you do ever find yourself on this island though, be sure to spend some time in the beautiful ocean water. If you spot a whale, you just might see where the road got its name.
