#5: Who’s Wearing the Pants?
Without knowing the context of this photo, you wouldn’t think there is anything about it that is worthy of comment. You might not guess it, but the five young girls in this photo were sent home early from their school day, all because I wear slacks and blue jeans to school.
That’s right, ladies and gentlemen! It’s 1946, and girls wearing men’s clothing to school are a crime punishable by being sent home early, or at least that’s the case in McKinley High School, Chicago. This group of young women doesn’t seem particularly perturbed by their punishment.
