#21: Chuckie from Rugrats
Chuckie is perhaps the most adorable of the Rugrats, with his irrational fears and cute glasses. His character’s appearance was actually inspired by none other than Mark Mothersbaugh, Devo’s lead singer. This inspiration is pretty unexpected. What does the frontman of a 1980s band with a cult following have to do with a kid’s cartoon?

Mark Mothersbaugh actually has closer ties to Rugrats than most people realize. He served as music supervisor and wrote the famous opening song for the show! Mothersbaugh has composed musical scores for many other shows and movies, including Wes Anderson’s films and The Lego Movie. Now we have to try and get the Rugrats theme song out of our head.
