Rapid Fire Red Flags
One person had a whole list of red flags to look out for when job hunting. First, they warn that It’s suspicious if a company doesn’t schedule an interview with the person you will be working directly under. This could indicate a lot of things about a company, but it mostly shows that either your future manager or the company at large doesn’t care about its employees.
Second, they advise us not to be fooled by the super cool “perks” that a lot of startups like to advertise in job listings. A game room or ping pong table is not a perk if you don’t have full health care coverage or adequate PTO. Lastly, if a job listing uses a bunch of buzzwords that don’t mean anything, that means someone outside of the department wrote it. The expectations of that job are probably unclear, and the company could be unorganized.
