You’re a Rock Star!
Here’s another example of a company saying one thing but meaning another. If a possible employer says that they are “looking for a rock star” to fill an available position, it’s a red flag. Not only is describing someone as a “rock star” completely cringe-worthy, but it’s also code for an employee who won’t complain about a crummy job.

What they really mean when they say they want a rock star employee is someone who will tolerate low pay, long hours, and awful treatment of employees. Employers like this are a dime a dozen, unfortunately, so it’s good to learn what the signs of a poorly run company are when reading job descriptions.
