Anne Boleyn’s Tragic End
Henry VIII of England is notoriously remembered for being a fickle man who had six wives over the course of his lifetime. If he changed his mind and wanted to marry someone else, he went to great lengths to get what he wanted. He even changed the official religion of a whole country by creating the Church of England and leaving the Catholic church. Why? He wanted to divorce his first wife so he could marry Anne Boleyn.
Marry Anne, he did. He got fed up with this second marriage pretty quickly, though, when Anne “failed” to produce the male heir he so desperately wanted. This unfortunate lack of an heir, mixed with Anne’s bold personality, led to Henry wanting out of the marriage by any means possible. Instead of another divorce, Anne Boleyn was beheaded alongside her brother. Whether her accusations were true or made up has been lost to history. All we know is that Henry VIII got what he wanted.
