Condoleezza Rice
Condoleezza Rice, the 66th United States Secretary of State from 2005 to 2009, will be instantly recognisable to anybody who has even a passing interest in politics. Unlike other politicians, who have a spouse or wife and children, Rice has chosen to live a life that is far from conventional and traditional. Rice is now unmarried and has no children of her own.
She is an amazing role model for all women, particularly women of colour, in terms of what it means to be a strong and successful woman. Rice used to date and was even briefly engaged to prominent NFL player Rick Upchurch while she was in her twenties in the 1970s, but the politician eventually opted to end the connection because she “understood the relationship wasn’t going to work.”
