Small Things That Are Oddly Irritating

It takes a minute to figure out what’s wrong with this photo. You might think it’s your vision or your head that’s slightly tilted at first, but it isn’t – it’s the toilet. It’s just a little bit off-center, but enough to drive anyone crazy. Why is it facing sideways? Didn’t the person who install this toilet notice it was crooked?

We feel like we’re asking this question again and again, and it gets us nowhere. This is the kind of thing that would make me reject the apartment. As difficult and exhausting as it can be to find the perfect apartment, this is the kind of thing that disqualifies the apartment altogether. How could you live with this toilet?
