Thanks for the Heads Up
One thing most people tend to forget about social media is that it’s not entirely free. Sure, you don’t have to pay a subscription fee to use Instagram or Twitter, but you should know that you’re the product. And everything you willingly post on a social media platform can be used by the company at their discretion.
This was a pretty popular scam back in the day. All you had to do to “avoid” Instagram’s use of your photos and whatnot was to copy-paste a message that sounded pretty technical but was actually a bunch of hot air. Good job, Julia Roberts. We thought you were smarter than that.
