American actress and talk show host Kelly Ripa has been named One of the Most Powerful People in Media by the Hollywood Reporter. In 1990, Ripa was cast in a lead role on the popular soap opera All My Children, a role that skyrocketed her career. She starred on the show for twelve consecutive years, from 1990 to 2002.

In the early 2000s, Ripa auditioned to be a host on Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee after Kathie Lee announced she would be leaving the show. Regis was highly impressed by her. In 2001, she was announced as Kathie Lee’s replacement – big shoed to fill. As we all know, Ripa remained a host on the show as her co-host changed, and today the show is called Live with Kelly and Ryan.
