Taraji P. Henson
Throughout the nineties, actress Taraji P. Henson attempted to make it big in the entertainment industry, but she received only minor roles or roles as an extra. It was only in 2001 that she finally gained the role that put her on the Hollywood map, a lead role in the comedy-drama Baby Boy, alongside singer Tyrese Gibson.
In 2005, Henson appeared in the Academy-Award winning film Hustle & Flow, and in 2008 she appeared in the critically-acclaimed drama The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, starring Brad Pitt. The actress earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Benjamin Button’s adopting mother. Among other projects and endeavors, Henson created a makeup collection in collaboration with MAC Cosmetics and she maintains a successful TV career.
