Julie Bowen
Although most of us are familiar with her as Clair Dunphy from the hugely successful sitcom Modern Family, Julie Bowen’s career started long before she joined the cast of the ABC sitcom. Born on March 3, 1970, Bowen started her acting career while attending college. Throughout the nineties, she has guest roles in a number of TV shows, and starred in the films Happy Gilmore (1996), Multiplicity (1996), and An American Werewolf in Paris (1997).
Her first lead role in a TV series was the NBC comedy-drama Ed, which ran from 2000-2004. It was in 2009 that Bowen was cast on the popular ABC sitcom Modern Family, where she starred throughout the show’s entirety, from 2009 to 2020. This March, along with her 50th birthday, Bowen marked the show’s finale after 11 years – both occasions she celebrated with mixed feelings.
