Paul Thomas Anderson
You might not recognize him face, but Paul Thomas Anderson is one of Hollywood’s most talented filmmakers. An acclaimed director, producer and screenwriter, Anderson was born and raised in Los Angeles and was interested in filmmaking from a young age. The first film he had written and directed was Hard Eight, released in 1996 starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Samuel L. Jackson.
Anderson also directed the 1997 hit Boogie Nights, the award-winning and star-studded drama Magnolia (1999), and the drama-comedy Punch-Drunk Love (2002). Anderson also wrote and directed the critically-acclaimed period drama There Will Be Blood (2007), which is considered one of the greatest films of the 2000s. Anderson is known for his collaborations with actors including Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julianne Moore, and John C. Reily.
