Shonda Rhimes
Shonda Rhimes is the brilliant mind behind some of the biggest TV series of the past two decades: she’s the creator of the popular medical drama Grey’s Anatomy and the political thriller Scandal, and the executive producer of the series How to Get Away with Murder. Her contribution to the entertainment industry has put her name on Time Magazine’s list of 100 People Who Help Shape the World.
Rhimes attended Dartmouth College, where she majored in English and Film Studies and also wrote for the university newspaper, and later she studied screenwriting at the University of Southern California. Throughout the nineties, Rhimes took on different jobs, some of them related to writing, as she tried to pursue her dream to become a scriptwriter in Hollywood. In the early 2000s, she created the hugely popular and longtime-running Grey’s Anatomy, and the rest is history.
