#38: Elitist Faceguard
These days when people go to war no one wears metal armor or even a faceguard to protect them from their enemy. There are other methods used today that can better protect soldiers in war, but back in medieval times, metal armor was the only viable option for protection.
We always thought that metal armor had to be somewhat bulky and standard-looking, but this elite helmet and faceguard worn by the elite Roman cavalry is anything but standard-looking. Not only is it cast in both gold and silver, but there are so many beautiful intricacies to this headpiece.
