Speaking of Another Life
When your kid wakes up in the middle of the night, there’s probably no reason to start karate-chopping everything and everyone you see, including your child. All you really have to do is ask them why they’re up, whether or not they need to use the bathroom, then usher them back into their bedroom.
But what if your kid tells you that they used to own a trainset when they were a grandpa, your first reaction would probably be to stare at your kid in utter silence. Maybe you heard them wrong. Then again, you know that kids can say some pretty weird things, so you pray to everything that’s holy that this is one of those times.
