#9: Showers Don’t Have to Be That Long
Bathrooms are where most of our freshwater goes down the drain, literally. From toilets that use excessive water to flush to showers, there is a lot of perfectly good water wasted. Buying replacements, such as showerheads that use less water at a time, or toilets with different water options, can be expensive.
Thankfully, there is a simpler and cheaper way to reduce your water usage in the bathroom. On average, most people shower between 8 to 10 minutes. One 10-minute shower can use over 50 gallons of water. By halving your time and taking a 5-minute shower, you can reduce your waste to 25 gallons and still have an effective shower.
