Life Jackets Get a Makeover
In the early 1900s, lifejackets resembled puffy comforters that were fastened to the body with a belt. Due to their bulky and large nature, these life jackets were actually quite limiting to the user and did not make it easy to swim or maneuver.

Thankfully we’ve learned a lot in the past 100 years. Today life jackets help the user to stay safe above water, but also swim to safety. Life jackets are a staple in airplanes, boats, and for young or inexperienced swimmers. This incredible invention has undoubtedly saved many lives over the years and will continue to do so.
