Strollers
Just before the start of the 20th century, an American named Charles Burton redesigns the stroller in a way that allows parents to push babies rather than pulling. His redesign was actually not a hit in the U.S., but in Britain it certainly was where his “perambulator” became known as a “pram.”
Eventually rubber and plastic would replace wicker, and strollers could be pushed with more ease. With medical advances too we learned more about proper positioning for babies to give them the most healthy development. Today strollers can collapse into car seats, fit more than one baby, and can even be opened and closed one-handed.
