President Bush
During a 2007 toast at the White House for a special white-tie event that held many powerful and influential people, where President Bush would make a mistake. He switched the dates around in his speech, saying 1776 and not 1976 when referring to the U.S bicentennial celebration that the Queen attended decades ago.
With this mistake, he would accidentally be implying that Elizabeth was an extra two hundred years old. She called the President out a few days later in a speech she gave at the British Embassy saying ‘I wondered whether I should start this toast by saying, when I was here, in 1776…’ the room filled with laughter .
