#29: Space Race
The space race used to refer to the efforts of large countries to send an aircraft to space, but in the past few years, it’s changed its meaning somewhat. Now, it’s not just about countries getting to space (after several countries have already achieved this feat), but about individuals – billionaires – who shoot for the stars.
It’s ironic that these attempts of individuals to fly to space are part of the reason for climate change and why one day humans might actually have to populate another planet. It feels like with big companies and industries (or even private individuals) generating so many chemical compounds in the atmosphere, there’s really nothing we can do to help our environment.
