#16: The Most State
Say what you will about it, but there are a lot of superlatives attached to Alaska. It is the largest state in the United States, has the highest mountain in North America, has more coastline than the rest of the United States combined, and is the state I’m least interested in living in because I am such a wuss about being cold.

But here’s a crazy one that you might not be aware of! You probably already knew that it’s the farthest north state; you might be surprised to hear that it extends farther west than Hawaii. But I bet you’ve never considered that because the Aleutian Islands extend into the eastern hemisphere, it can be argued that it’s also the easternmost state.
