#27: Everything’s Bigger in Texas
I would imagine that most of us don’t actually understand just how big Texas is. It is 773 miles from the easternmost border to the westernmost border, meaning that if you were driving 70 miles an hour, it would take you 10 hours to cross the state—and that’s without stopping for gas or a meal.
The result of this is this fascinating geography fact. Even though Texas is in the center of America and California is on the West Coast, Texas is so wide that California is closer to the western border than other parts of Texas are.
