Have you ever thought about how the laser printer in your home or office works? You might assume it involves just sticking ink on a piece of paper, like a typewriter. But a typewriter can only use one font and can’t reproduce images. So, how does a laser printer do it?

It turns out the process is way more complicated than we ever realized. What’s crazy is that the xerography process was invented over eighty years ago! The process was used to create the first copier machines by a company that eventually took its name from “xerography”: Xerox.
