At the risk of sounding too cheesy, we’re going to say that sometimes, the most beautiful things or the best moments happen completely by chance and when we least expect it. Take this photo, for example. This person wanted to experiment with his camera, not sure what might happen, but not expecting anything.

While visiting the Ice House Reservoir in Pollock Pines, he decided to experiment with photography. He pointed his camera at the sky and left it there for about an hour. When he returned and looked at the results, he couldn’t believe his eyes, and neither can we. This doesn’t even look like a photograph but like a brush-stroke painting of a starry night.
