Feeding the plants
Just like we’ve all caught on to recycling, we’re all beginning to see the light when it comes to composting as well. Soon, along with crushing our cans and washing out our plastic bottles, we won’t think twice about scraping our vegetable peelings into a large dark container and leaving it for months.
Making your own compost can be really effective as well as great for reducing waste, but you probably don’t know which foods you can’t add to the pile. Walnuts, bread, onions, and citrus peels are all off-limits. These items can make your compost less effective, and also attract vermin, which is the last thing you want rummaging around.
