From your head to your toes
If your grandma was anything like mine, then you’ve probably suffered through the insistence that you wear a hat from around September to May. The statement that most of our body heat leaves us through our head will have been bandied about at some point, and you’d have given in for a quiet life.
But grandma is wrong. Only 10 % of our heat leaves our body through our head. So, as well-meaning as grandma is, you can tell her that it’s probably more important to wear your gloves than it is to mess up your hairstyle. If you like yourself a stylish hat, then you’re still allowed to wear one, just wrap up warm elsewhere, too.
