Keep your hands to yourself
We’ve all heard that a watched pot never boils and we all know that it’s not exactly true. Time moves just the same speed whether we watch the pot or not, it just feels like it takes longer. The same isn’t true of slow cookers, though, and we all need to learn to keep our hands to ourselves when cooking our casseroles.
The genius of slow cookers is the minimal effort it takes to create a delicious dish. The important thing to remember is that you must leave it alone for the whole cooking time. Every time you lift the lid to check the contents of your dish heat will escape. The more heat that escapes, the slower your meal will cook. So be patient; it’ll be ready.
