Becoming an Emotionless Person
This is a question I’ve pondered about many times: if you don’t cry, or don’t get extremely upset about something everyone else finds sad, is there something wrong with you? Learning how to handle your emotions is essential to understanding yourself and responding accordingly in any given situation. Once you can master controlling how you feel, you can remain calm and logical under stressful situations.
However, you want to be careful not to filter your emotions to the point you don’t feel anything. When this person’s grandmother passed away, he didn’t cry or feel terribly sad. He does mention that they had been expecting her to pass away since she had been sick for some time. It can be beneficial if you have come to terms with a loved one passing away. Just make sure you don’t dismiss your emotions when they are there.
