NO PAY, NO STAY
Different properties have different rules for guests. Managers in large apartment complexes could care less about who stays over. If you’re renting a room in someone’s home, they probably care very much and will see that you don’t have guests for the night. This person was living with a landlord who wasn’t just uncaring but pretty snoopy.
First, there was an issue with mold, which the landlord “took care of” by painting over the affected area. Then, when the tenant broke the rules by having a guest over, the landlord came over and screamed that you could only stay if you pay rent. If the tenant pays utilities, why should it matter?
