Chlorophyll-free fern
Do you recall the mysterious transparent leaf a few pages back? Well, this is sort of like that in no way at all. This fern is completely free of chlorophyll, the pigment that gives plants their natural green tone. What’s weird is that this fern seems to be perfectly healthy, except for its pale complexion.
Normally, a plant on the brink of death would shrivel up and become a skeleton of its former self. This is definitely not the case with this fern, as its leaves still have some body, and its stem is holding the entire thing up. This is a pretty weird plant, to say the least.
