#6: It’s Been a Long Journey for This Little Guy
This homeowner in New Mexico came to do the dishes in their kitchen and was greeted by this lizard just lounging about. How freaking cool is that?! I’ve had a few lizards in my kitchen I needed to rescue, but none that were having so much fun. This little dude probably thinks she hit the vacation jackpot!
How do I know it’s a she? This is the New Mexico Whiptail, and one mildly interesting fact is there are zero males within the species. They’re considered parthenogenetic, meaning reproduction doesn’t involve fertilization by sperm. These mamas grow their babies all on their own!
