Wood is a great material to play with because you can pretty much burn or carve anything you want into it with relative ease. Get nerdy with it and engrave your favorite movie line, or a cute anime character right into it! A great kitchen gadget to do this with would be a cutting board. The  best are usually wood!

Grab a high quality piece of wood, or even a pre-made one, make sure it’s food-safe and get to designing! Of course, get an expert on the job if you so choose. Imagine cutting your tomatoes over Pikachu’s face, or looking down at a pirate when you chop up some onions. It might sound nerdy to some, but hey it’s your kitchen!
