Albert Nobbs – Glenn Close
Hilary Swank has previously played a trans man in The Change-Up (2011), and here’s another gender-bending transformation. In 2011, Glenn Close donned the title role of Albert Nobbs in a film adaptation of the play. This part was first performed on stage in the 1980s and has taken decades to get made into a film.
For the role of the trans butler, Close had to spend two hours each day in makeup. She wore a silicon nose tip, gelatin earlobes, and dental plumpers. Much like Swank, she also bound her chest for the role.
