Duke Snider – 1949 Bowman
Edwin “Duke” Snider was a beloved Centerfielder for the Dodgers, both in Brooklyn and Los Angeles. His final years were with the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants. Second only to Jackie Robinson in popularity, Duke made his debut in 1947. He hit 407 home runs throughout his career and 1,333 RBIs.
The “Silver Fox” was a legendary pitcher who made eight All-Star teams and won two World Series titles. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1980 after establishing himself as one of baseball’s all-time greats. This 1949 Bowman sold for $232,750 in 2016! That’s enough to make anyone a Duke.
