Joe Namath – 1965 Topps
Joe Namath, better known as “Broadway Joe,” is the first player on our list. The all-star QB made his NFL debut with the New York Jets in 1965 and retired with the Los Angeles Rams in 1977 after playing 140 games. He threw 173 touchdown passes during his career, was a five-time Pro Bowler, a Super Bowl champion, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Joe Namath was a highly popular player in the 1960s, especially when he led the Jets to victory against the heavily favored Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. It’s no surprise that he was MVP in ’68, and it’s also no surprise that his card might sell for $260,000 in mint condition.
