Ken Griffey Jr. – 1989 Upper Deck Rookie
In 1989, the Seattle Mariners selected Ken Griffey Jr. as a 19-year-old. He spent parts of his career with the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox, and finally returned to the Seattle Mariners for his two final seasons in MLB. Over 22 years, “The Kid” was voted MVP numerous times, participated in 13 All-Star games, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2016.
The Kid’s first card was going to be one of the most valuable cards in history. While it didn’t reach those heights, Griffey Junior has established himself as a baseball legend, and one of these 1989 rookies can sell for around $400.
